ORANGEVILLE - If you haven't caught episodes of "Undercover Boss" yet, give it try. It leaves you with that real feel-good-feelin' that your boss is just as inept as he/she thinks you are sometimes.

This Sunday, January 22nd, local home-grown company The Grounds Guys™ gets its turn in the spotlight when Dina Dwyer-Owens, the CEO of The Dwyer Group®, goes undercover as an employee for a week.

But first, The Grounds Guys.

Tim van Stralen started a company called Sunshine Grounds Care in Caledon in 1987. With the help of his 9 brothers, he began to build a very successful business mowing lawns and cleaning yards. The brand began to expand through franchising in 2005, and by 2009, had 26 locations throughout Ontario and BC.

A local success story then goes North American.

In 2010, Sunshine makes an agreement with The Dwyer Group, and franchising in the States begins, with Sunshine re-branding as The Grounds Guys. Today, there are over 70 locations across Canada and the US.

OK, now the "Undercover Boss" thing.

Like we said, CEO Dina Dwyer-Owens goes undercover. Billing it as "a female CEO...going undercover in a man's world", judging from the promo video, she's ill-equipped for yard work. Long, manicured nails, make-up, and pearls: meet the world of dirt under the nails, sweat running down the face, and work belts.

I think it will be hilarious to watch, but according to Chris Carlson, executive producer for 'Undercover Boss', "This episode ranks among the most powerful and moving episodes of 'Undercover Boss'."

Dim lights
